I took this picture of Mrs. Dole when she was in the middle
of her 2000 presidential bid.
She was visiting Myrtle Beach at the time. Her handlers gave me less than a minute to take this portrait since she was in such a rush.
Mrs. Dole wouldn’t have any part of it. She took the time
to talk to me and gave me all the time I needed for the portrait.
I took a handful of other photos with Mrs. Dole and dignitaries including state senators before she was wisked off into a waiting car and taken to the airport.
The photos are now a part of their personal collection.
